Welcome to ChatChat. This Privacy Policy explains what information
we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user. By using the app you agree
to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
- Phone number — collected during sign-in via OTP. Used only for authentication.
- Profile information — name, age, gender, city, job, bio, and interests that you enter during onboarding.
- Chat messages — messages you send inside the app are stored to power AI responses and maintain conversation history.
- Payment information — when you purchase coins, your transaction is processed by Google Play Billing. We do not store card or UPI details on our servers.
- Device data — push notification token, device type, advertising ID, and app usage data for analytics, attribution, and notifications.
- Voice audio — if you use voice calls, your microphone audio is streamed to our voice AI provider (xAI) to generate a live spoken response. Audio is not stored by us after the call ends.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and personalise the ChatChat chat experience.
- To process coin purchases and maintain your balance.
- To send you push notifications about new messages and activity.
- To improve the app through anonymised usage analytics.
- To prevent fraud and abuse.
3. AI Characters
All characters on ChatChat are AI-generated personas. They are not
real people. Conversations are generated by artificial intelligence and do not
represent the views of any real individual.
4. Third-Party Services
- Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, and analytics. Privacy policy →

- xAI (Grok) — AI response generation, including voice call audio. Your messages and voice audio may be processed by xAI's API. Privacy policy →
- Meta (Facebook) — app install attribution and advertising analytics via the Facebook SDK, using your device's advertising ID. Privacy policy →
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers in the asia-south1 (Mumbai)
region. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
Access is restricted to authenticated users only.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data and chat history for as long as your account is active.
If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days.
7. Children's Privacy
ChatChat is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not
knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we become aware of such collection,
we will delete the data immediately.
8. Your Rights
- Request a copy of your data.
- Request deletion of your account and data.
- Opt out of non-essential notifications at any time from your device settings.
- Reset or limit ad tracking via your device's advertising ID settings (Android Settings → Privacy → Ads).

9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant
changes via a notice in the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
